Kathleen Y’Barbo’s Beloved Castaway
Historical author Kathleen Y’Barbo has written another delightful novel, Beloved Castaway, in which “a stormy romance rages along the Florida Keys.” Mistaken identities, broken families, forbidden romances, struggling faith, and adventure on the high seas come together to keep the reader turning the pages from beginning to end. Seldom do I finish the last page of a book with happy shivers running down my spine and tears in my eyes. Beloved Castaway is one such book.

A successful historical novel is a combination of good research, good writing,
and great plotting. If any of these things are missing, the book will fall flat.

A great combination ~ I try to apply those to my own stories and love the whole process! I agree that a strong plot is essential, that's what drives the story after all and gets me excited about the research too. Thanks for sharing Kathleen's advice and your recommendation of her book, sounds like one I'd love to read, shivers and all!

I have never written a book, but have always had many ideas "swirling" in my head. Another thing I have always liked about books are the dialog - which of couse is part of the writing. This makes the characters come to the forfront of my mind when I read. Thank you for the opportunity of trying to win Kathleen's book. Paula Dumas
